Houston County Traffic Courts

Pay Houston County Traffic Tickets
A traffic violation that is not listed as court-only may be disposed of by appearing in court on the date listed on the Uniform Traffic Citation, mailing payment, paying online through Benchmark, or paying in person. Payment is treated as a guilty plea when the person does not contest the ticket. Mail payments go to State Court of Houston County at 201 Perry Parkway, Perry, GA 31069.
Mail payment must include the fine and a copy of the yellow ticket signed on the back. It must be postmarked no later than the court date. The county states that mail payment should be cash, cashier's check, or money order, with payment made payable to State Court of Houston County. Personal checks are not accepted. In-person payments may be made with cash, debit, or credit card, and card use has a 4% fee.

Houston County Court-Only Traffic Cases
Some Houston County traffic records cannot be closed by simply paying online or mailing a fine. The State Court traffic page lists DUI, reckless driving, racing, laying drag, VGCSA, no insurance, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, driving with a suspended license, and driving with a suspended registration as court-only matters. These require appearance in court.
Failure to respond on or before the court date can result in license suspension by the Georgia Department of Public Safety and a bench warrant for arrest. Court-only traffic cases may also overlap with criminal court records when the offense is charged as a misdemeanor or has a criminal disposition. DUI and other serious traffic charges should be tracked through the court file and, when needed, through Houston County criminal court records.
Important: A payable ticket and a court-only traffic case have different consequences, so verify the State Court instruction before paying.
Houston County Traffic Fines

Houston County Super Speeder
The Houston County traffic page states that Georgia DDS administers and collects the Super Speeder fee under O.C.G.A. 40-6-189. The fee is an additional $200 for drivers convicted of 85 mph or more on any road or 75 mph or more on a two-lane road. DDS sends notice after receiving the citation information.
If the Super Speeder fee is not paid within 90 days, the driver is subject to indefinite license suspension until the fee and a $50 reinstatement fee are paid. Houston County State Court says it has no jurisdiction over this penalty and cannot collect it. Houston County License Consequences

Mailed school-zone citations are a clear local exception. Houston County State Court says it does not handle citations received in the mail for school-zone violations. Do not assume a mailed school-zone notice is in the State Court traffic record system. The county State Court path still matters for other school-zone speeding cases because the fine can double, but the mailed citation processor is separate from the State Court Clerk's normal citation payment process.

Houston County Traffic Record Access
Traffic court records are generally court records, but access is still subject to Georgia law, court rules, sealed records, juvenile limits, and redaction of protected information.
